People fall for all these fitness infomercials telling them you can be like this in this time frame if you just eat this. Or You can change your life and wear skinny jeans in a month by doing this one thing.


These are some of the many reasons why we all set unrealistic goals when we start our fitness journey. Some of the most common mistakes we do are the results of what we see on our screens.


If you're not used to working out regularly, then it's unrealistic to expect that you'll be able to lose a significant amount of weight in a short period.


Similarly, if you've been leading a sedentary lifestyle for many years, don't expect to be able to run a marathon within the next few months! It's important to set realistic goals that you can achieve.



Inconsistency is another common reason why people fail to achieve their fitness goals.

When it comes to working out, you need to be consistent to see results. Many people start off strong and motivated, but then they quickly lose interest and give up.


Some people start with a process they cannot maintain. This usually happens in the first week.


When I first started, I had a certain goal. I was working out six days a week, eating almost no carbs, exercising like I was crazy- which I was.


I was eating one meal a day-I didn't even like the food. I used to spend two hours a day at the gym and then sat in the sauna for another 15-20mins. My metabolism was on fire. I was so pumped and motivated.


A month later, I was tapped out. I was so exhausted and started feeling dizzy. I took a break and rarely came back.


Interestingly, someone was watching me at the gym and the person was kind enough to give me feedback. I took the feedback and made small changes to my routine. The key is to adjust your exercise to make it a part of your life. You need a sustainable routine. Remember fitness is a lifestyle, not a one-time thing.


If you want to achieve your fitness goals, you need to find a way to stay consistent with your workout routine. This may mean setting smaller goals that you can easily achieve or finding a workout buddy who will help keep you accountable.
