Lots of people use Google Pay on their mobile phones through which they can easily send money to anyone and anywhere. But there are many users who become worried when they face an issue while using google pay because money is a crucial thing and when a UPI PIN stops working they feel stressed. This article will explain everything about why a UPI PIN may fail and how to reset or change the PIN.
Why Google Pay UPI PIN is Not Working
Wrong PIN Entered
In case you type the wrong UPI PIN more than three times then your bank or UPI system can block transactions for a short time and this can stop payments to protect money.
Network Error
Sometimes your phone may show a network error or the bank server may be down and because of that your PIN looks like it is not working even when it is correct.
App Problem
When the Google Pay app is not up to date then the app can misbehave and the PIN entry may fail. So updating the app or restarting the phone often fixes this issue.
Wrong Account Linked
Also if your bank account is not linked properly or your debit card details changed then UPI may reject the PIN. So link the correct bank account in Google Pay.
How to Reset or Change Google Pay UPI PIN
Open Google Pay
It is necessary to open the Google Pay app and tap your profile icon. Then choose the bank account you want to change and then you can see the options for PIN change.
Select Change PIN
After that tap on Change UPI PIN option and the app will ask for an OTP from your bank-registered phone number. So keep your phone ready to receive the OTP.
Verify With OTP
You will get an SMS OTP from your bank, and when you enter it the app allows you to set a new PIN. Do not share the OTP with anyone and type the new PIN carefully twice.
Verify With Adhar
Some banks ask for debit card details or Aadhaar verification to reset the PIN and if you do not have a debit card linked then Aadhaar-based options may work.
Google Live Chat Process
For help you can go to the official Google Help Center website from your browser.
Then choose the product where you are facing the problem and click on Contact Us.
Select the issue you are facing and you will see different support options like chat with agents.
And if live chat is available for your service click Chat and wait for an agent to join.
Finishing
So it is good to take small checks first like internet, app update and correct bank links before changing any PIN. If the PIN is wrong many times then use the official reset path. Also use google live chat in the app when you need fast guidance and when you want written proof of the conversation.
