Qatar Airways Flight Cancellation Policy

Qatar Airways' refund policy relies on various factors, such as the time the request for cancellation was made, the type of fare, and the tier of your Privilege Club membership, including potential and no-show charges. Whether it is an adult, a child, or an infant, the rule stays the same for everyone.

Rules about Cancellation

If passengers make some changes or cancel the flight more than 24 hours before the scheduled departure time, the flight will be charged an amount based on their tier level. Here are the conditions for cancellation made more than 24 hours before the flight's scheduled departure time.

  • Platinum and Gold prominent members - These members will be charged with no refund or cancellation charges or fees.
  • Silver, Burgundy, or a family/guest of a Platinum and Gold member - If these members cancel or change their flight, a USD 25 fee will be applied.

If passengers change or cancel their flight between three and twenty-four hours before the scheduled departure time, they will be charged based on their tier level. Here are the conditions for tier members.

  • Platinum and Gold prominent members - They will not be charged with any additional charges or fees for canceling or changing a flight with Qatar Airways.
  • Silver, Burgundy, or a family/guest of a Platinum and Gold member - If the cancellation is being made by these passengers, a fee of USD 100 will be applied.

If the changes or cancellations are made within three hours or after the scheduled departure time of the flight, the passenger will be considered a no-show. The refund amount will be returned according to the rules mentioned below.

  • Under this circumstance, Avios and collected Cash will be forfeited.
  • As a refund, only airport and government taxes will be returned to the original payment source.

Rules about Refund

Before Departure: For fully unutilized tickets, the amount will be fully refunded with all the included taxes after deducting cancellation fees; based on the fare rules, the fare is refundable.

After Departure: For partially used tickets, the amount will be returned after the fare is deducted for the used part of the ticket.

In conclusion, "Does Qatar have a Free Cancellation policy?" The answer is yes, but it depends on your tier level. No refunds, cancellation fees, or charges are applied to Platinum or Gold main members.
