Tsum Valley, nestled in the remote northern Gorkha region of Nepal, is renowned for its unspoiled natural beauty, rich Tibetan culture, and sacred monasteries. Here’s a suggested itinerary for a 20-day trek encompassing Tsum Valley:

Day 1-3: Kathmandu to Soti Khola, Trek to Machha Khola (900m)

  • Drive from Kathmandu to Soti Khola and commence trekking towards Machha Khola.

Day 4-5: Trek to Jagat (1,410m), Philim (1,570m)

  • Trek through beautiful landscapes, reaching Jagat and then Philim.

Day 6-7: Trek to Chumling (2,386m), Chokhang Paro (3,010m)

  • Trek to Chumling, the entrance to Tsum Valley, and continue to Chokhang Paro.

Day 8-9: Trek to Nile (3,360m), Mu Gompa (3,700m)

  • Trek to Nile, passing through stunning landscapes.
  • Visit Mu Gompa, an ancient monastery with cultural significance.

Day 10-11: Acclimatization in Mu Gompa, Trek to Rachen Gompa (3,240m)

  • Spend a day for acclimatization and explore Mu Gompa.
  • Trek to Rachen Gompa, another significant monastery in the region.

Day 12-13: Trek back to Chumling, Lokpa (2,240m)

  • Trek back to Chumling and then continue to Lokpa.

Day 14-16: Trek to Deng (1,800m), Namrung (2,630m), Lho (3,180m)

Day 17-18: Trek to Samagaon (3,530m), Samdo (3,860m)

You can do this trek at any time of the year. However, we recommend the months of March through May or September through November. Any other time, it is either too hot or too cold.
