MDF and MELAMINE
Melamine and MDF are two materials that resemble each other very closely. Both are very strong and made of wood fiber. MDF is a less expensive material that is used extensively in industries. However, melamine has a number of benefits. For one, it nails more easily and is less likely to crack. It makes a great panel furniture choice because it is also stronger.
Wood fibers are protected by melamine, which is a long-lasting material. It is a great choice for a wide range of applications because of its smooth surface and high density. Additionally, high-quality melamine boards are a good choice if you want to purchase a piece of furniture with a unique style.
For Structure
Wood fibers, wax, and resin are combined with heat to create a dense, uniform panel, which is then combined to form MDF. It is essentially a smooth, uniform material throughout, with no wood grain.
A melamine board is typically a particleboard or MDF core coated in a layer of melamine resin-infused paper. To create a hard, long-lasting surface with a variety of decorative finishes, this paper is thermally fused to the core.
Surface finish
MDF is typically used as a substrate material because it has a plain, smooth surface without any texture.
Melamine board has a pre-finished surface with a decorative pattern or solid color.
Synchronous melamine boards are unique in their surface texture, which is designed to mimic the texture of natural materials such as wood grain. That is, the texture of the steel plate is synchronized with the pattern of the paper. When you place your hands on the sync board, you can feel the texture, which adds a tactile dimension to the design. The main textures are wood grain, fabric, stone grain and leather texture.
Melamine boards, on the other hand, have a smooth yet hard surface finish and may come in a variety of colors, patterns, or solid colors. It doesn't have sync textures in the sync board.
For Life
MDF is typically more durable than standard particleboard, but it is n't as durable as solid wood. It can swell or warp when exposed to excessive moisture.
Due to its hard, scratch-resistant surface, melamine board is comparatively durable. However, if not properly sealed, the core material( MDF or particleboard) may still be susceptible to moisture damage.
Application
MDF is frequently used in interior projects like moldings, bookshelves, and furniture. To achieve the desired appearance, it is frequently veneered or painted.
Melamine boards are used similarly to MDF, but when a decorative, low-maintenance finish is needed, they are preferred. It is frequently used in office furniture, closets, wall panels, and kitchen cabinets.
Overall, melamine board has better durability than MDF and better decor ability than MDF.
