IND vs AUS 5th T20I: India Clinches the T20I Series 4-1 in a Nail-Biting Finish

Australia began their chase carefully, with Matthew Wade and Josh Inglis making good progress. However, they lost wickets in the middle overs and struggled to reach the mark. Ben McDermott led Australia with 54 runs, however he was out in the 18th over with Australia still needing 20 runs to win. In the end, Australia fell short by six runs, and India won the series.

Ravi Bishnoi was India's star performer in the 5th T20I, taking 2/29 in four overs. Deepak Chahar and Axar Patel each grabbed two wickets for India. The victory will give India a major boost ahead of the 2019 T20 World Cup.

Before securing victory over Australia in the last over on Sunday, Arshdeep Singh said he feared he would be the 'culprit' of the game. The left-arm pacer didn't have a good night at the Chinnaswamy, conceding 37 runs in three overs. He did manage to dismiss Ben McDermott, who had scored a stunning 54.

The match was fairly balanced going into the final six balls, with Australia needing 10 runs and Matthew Wade at the crease. Arshdeep would retain his nerve and bowl Wade out on the third ball of the over, turning the game decisively in India's favor.

The left-arm pacer gave up only three runs in the last over as India triumphed by six runs.

Arshdeep stated that he believed he had handed up too many runs early on. The left-arm bowler stated that nothing was on his mind during the final over and that Suryakumar Yadav gave him confidence.

"I guess for the majority of the game. For nearly 19 overs, I was convinced that I had given up too many runs and would be blamed for the game's outcome. But God gave me another chance, and I trusted in myself, and thanks to God, I was able to defend it, as well as the staff, who believed in me." said Arshdeep.

He added: "To be frank, my mind was blank. Surya bhai reminded me that whatever occurs, happens, and that credit also goes to our batters. They provided us with a really solid total on a tricky surface, and we had an extra 15 or 20-run buffer.

Arshdeep gave an honest assessment of his performance in the series, claiming that it was subpar and that he needs to reconsider and perform better in the future.

"I think it was just a normal series for me." In the future, I need to rethink and perform even better. I plan to apply all I've learned from this series. The bowling wasn't up to grade by Indian team standards, but there were a lot of lessons learned, and I'll learn from my mistakes," Arshdeep added.
