Preparing the Area

First of all, you have to consider what kind of insulation you are going to work with, when removing loose fill attic insulation. Most people opt for blown insulation removal vacuum rental when insulating older buildings and homes. You should use a test kit to find out if insulation consists of asbestos. It looks like a grey paper and it is very hazardous. If asbestos test is found positive, be sure to leave the project and seek professional help to get the insulation removed. It is not safe to go DIY.

In the insulation process, be sure to keep loose insulation in attic. You don’t need the pieces of moldy, damaged, mildewed, or moldy insulation to settle in your house. Close all the interior doors to avoid this. Place plastic sheet over the opening of walkthrough areas and secure it with tape.

To maneuver safely, put at least 6” wide planks over the joists. You can easily walk around the attic when it comes to remove insulation. Put a large trap to unload the garbage bags. Keep the path clean which is leading from attic to tarp area where all the garbage bags to be stored.

Equipment You Need

For wet-dry vacuum, garbage bags are required to store the vacuum canister. After vacuuming and emptying all the loose insulation in garbage bags, vacuum all the attic joists completely. It can remove all the small pieces of insulation which can penetrate air.

When it comes to vacuum joists, work your way till you reach the attic exit by starting at farthest end. There is no need to be stuck in corner when it comes to stir up the air with damaged or old insulation or dust from fecal matter. Even with respirator or dusk mask, be careful and avoid insulation exposure.

Rent an industrial vacuum which is HEPA filtered to remove loose insulation. The high-powered vacuums are used for two purposes. First of all, machine sucks all the loose insulation at once. Next up, it routes the insulation via the hose and puts it directly to the trash can or large trash bags outside.

The long hose can be placed easily with vent or attic window so most of the process can take place outside. It reduces the handling and exposure to contamination.

Verdict

About us:- Industrial grade vacuum takes less time in removal instead of using wet-dry vacuum. The insulation is taken in industrial vacuum and it is directly routed to the trash container placed outside and it results in more efficient, faster removal. With wet-vacuum, you will get in touch with insulation dust every time you want to empty the canister.
