Items That Should Be There In Your Indian Wedding Guest Checklist

Items that should be there in your Indian wedding guest checklist

We all have our own packing list for all purposes. Call it packing for a vacation, outing, wedding, or staycation. And the list is bound to vary as per the travel destination. But if you are attending an Indian wedding as a guest, there are certain things that you must have in your bag, irrespective of the place you’re visiting. So let’s look into the most necessary items that must be there in your Indian wedding checklist that can be your savior.

Indian wedding outfits as per the occasions

Indian weddings are usually a three-day event including a series of ceremonies like Haldi, Mehandi, Sangeet, and reception apart from the main wedding. So your Indian wedding guest checklist should have all the events mentioned. The details of decor and theme, if possible, to stay in tune with the rest of them in the wedding.

And then pack all your traditional dresses for those occasions to avoid any last-moment disaster. Try packing in a complete set. For example, if it's the Haldi outfit, pair your accessories, footwear, and any sling bags you plan on carrying, and then pack everything together in one place. This will help you in getting ready instantly for the main event.

The must-pack wedding outfits for men are Nehru Jacket and a Bandhgala because even if you don’t have time to plan your look, these two mens wear will never disappoint. And for women, we have a dedicated blog of what wedding guests' outfits to wear as per the occasion.

Also, pack certain casual outfits because you might have half a day or so to explore the place, and you might regret not carrying your tees or casual kurtis. A set of extra pajamas apart from your nightwear can be your savior.

Indian-style jewelry and other fashion accessories

While buying wedding outfits, look for Indian fashion jewelry and other accessories like bags and footwear that matches them perfectly. Pairing a maangtika set with the wedding lehenga or simply picking long earrings with the Mehendi saree can keep you sorted when you get ready on the final day. Similarly, a Kantha with Nehru Jacket or a safa with Bandhgala for wedding can blend well, keeping you steady in the accessorizing game.

Instead of keeping one bag for all your accessories, pack them with your outfits separately to have everything for a particular occasion in one place.

Grooming kit for all the essentials

The list of essential things will differ for every individual. However, products like toothpaste, toothbrush, mouthwash, floss, deodorant, face wash, shampoo, face wipes, and even moisturizer are some common ones that should be there in the grooming kit. Carry hair serum, extra bob pins, a sharpener if you use pencil kajal, perfume, and safety pins. Similarly, men should definitely add a lip lightener, hair gel, cologne, and a beard trimmer, just in case.

Keep a quick face pack or sheet mask to get an instant glow since you might look tired after all the traveling and fun that compromises on your sleep.

An emergency kit to avoid any uncalled trouble

An emergency kit is a magic bag that can fix any problems you or people around you might encounter. From your prescribed medications to basic ones for motion sickness, allergies, headache, fever, cold, or cough. From necessities like tissues, bandaids, sanitizers, and pain relievers to ‘might come in use’ like fashion tape, stain remover, glue, or scissors. The point is to consider all the “what if” situations and create an Indian wedding guest checklist accordingly to save yourself from those errands.

Add a small sewing kit to stitch minor rips or snags if there is any fashion faux pas. Try adding threads in colors that match your ethnic wear, or keep shades that will go with every Indian outfit, like gold or beige.

A carry-on-bag having all the extras

Extra items like sunscreen, phone charger, power bank, your tickets and required documents, comb or hair brush, energy bars and other snacks, reading glasses(if possible your eye lens, because they go better with Indian wear). Women can also carry a minimal makeup bag with foundation, kohl, makeup brushes, two-three shades of lipstick, and even their makeup remover to keep themselves sorted.

Keep things that you already packed in your suitcases but can never be enough, and can come in handy like safety pins, hair pins, tissues, wet wipes, moisturizer, lip balm, etc.
